Role Description

My client is a Global Technology powerhouse, with revenues of $15 Billion+, with offices across the world.

This is a critical leadership role within my client's Distributed Systems Support organization, and as such they are looking for a ‘High-Impact’ individual with a string technology background and the ability to engage in high bandwidth conversations with Senior Executives. You will take a lead role in taking critical business application support to the next level. If you are looking to challenge yourself this is the role for you, as it will include donning a hands-on technical role, along-side providing a primary managerial role.

This is a Global role whereby you will be leading teams of various guises, providing leadership and direction for Application Support teams across the globe.

Also, in this remit you will be responsible for the recruitment, development, and retention of a talented group of technology professionals for this core business support function.

You’ll be expected to and encouraged to collaborate with colleagues in technology departments across the globe as well as client support and product offices to establish effective and productive business relationships.

By the very nature of my client’s business, you will be expected to drive innovation and collaboration in the realm of production support to reduce redundant work and improve efficiency.



Aside from leading a team of highly-skilled Engineers responsible for ongoing support of highly complex business applications, responsibilities will include what you would expect when performing a Global Application Support Leadership role.


A minimum of 10 years’ experience is required (5+ of this should be at a managerial level) and this should have been gained across the following areas: Payments, Production Support & System Integration.


Technically you will need:

Solid knowledge of Payment technologies with an Engineering mindset.

Very strong experience with Middleware, Java Applications, Unix and Windows Systems


Strong experience supporting:

Apache Web Servers, TCServers, MVC framework, IIS, and IBM-IHSweb server

JavaScript, Powershell, Unix Scripting

Splunk, Nagios, Bigbrother, Munin, Cacti


Advance Database Experience with SQL skills (DB2, MSSQL)

SAML, Federation, Siteminder and LDAP

ITIL, BMC Remedy and ticketing workflows.


Prior experience must include leadership role for mission-critical system applications supporting high transaction systems.


Team player and passionate for building a culture of innovation and flawless execution. Technical hands on skills, ideally in multiple technology stacks.

Experienced organizing, running, supporting, and growing large technology organization.
